Rio Escondido - Tequila Sunrise

Teddy and I found the perfect little getaway at Rio Escondido near Uvalde, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Teqyila Sunrise cabin. It is tucked away just south of Camp Wood, this peaceful retreat has only 4–5 cabins, each with private river access, adorable views, and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever shared on a trip. We also loved exploring Uvalde’s cute boutiques and I came home with a new Consuela bag and wallet.Nathan, the property care taker, was friendly, greeted us upon arrival, and very informative in regard to the rainy weather. This little slice of heaven is definitely going on our favorites list—we’ll be back!

Epic family getaway at Rio Escondido Cabins on the Nueces River in Montell, TX. The crystal-clear river was out of this world — perfect for swimming and making memories. Clean, modern cabins with great decks. Peaceful Hill Country vibes, no crowds. This spot is gold. Book it. 10/10 recommend!

Our stay at the Tequila Sunrise Cabin was absolutely incredible! From the moment we walked in, we loved the fun, colorful Mexican-inspired décor. The vibrant touches, festive accents, and thoughtful design details give the cabin such a warm, lively personality while still feeling cozy and relaxing. One of our favorite features was the large front windows — the sunrise views are breathtaking! Waking up to the soft morning light pouring in while sipping our coffee was such a peaceful experience. The covered deck is another highlight. It’s the perfect place to relax any time of day, and the small dipping pool made it even better. Sitting in the cool water, enjoying the fresh air and scenery, was the ultimate way to unwind. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. If you’re looking for a unique getaway with character, charm, and beautiful views, Tequila Sunrise Cabin is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to come back!
